My daughter just graduated a semester early from Acellus Academy. She said she definitely learned more over the past 2 years of instruction from them than her public high school she previously attended. It is online and self paced, which was really good for her. The curriculum is also affordable with the Wed live instruction option. We were very happy with the support once we paid a little extra for the enhanced support. We did not need the enhanced support until the end when she was close to graduation. I hope the program continues to help kids who learn best this way.

So, my girlfriend is inrolled in this school. From my personal experience with helping her in Business Math, it is literally the most awful thing i have ever tried. The Lesson Videos required to be watched explain nothing for nearly 90% of the 10 minute video. One minute is info filled while the rest is some teacher (if you can even call him that) doing nothing but being weird and trying to be funny to engage the user, but it is so unhelpful. The Help videos where the teacher explains how to do such problems helps so much more. However... half the lessons dont have them. So you can easily get lost. I decided to try and help out with a lesson specifically on "Average Daily Balance Interest Calculation"
God was this a mistake. First three problems? Made sense. Same principal. Until the last 5. I used the same formula that I had inquired and understood from the first 3 problems. Got my answers and... woopsie doo! its WRONG. No explanation on why. Its so crappy. The help videos showed me what to do yet the problems say my answer (using their formula) is wrong. my own formula made is still wrong.

Parents, dear God please, DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL.

This school actually infuriates me, I had my 5th grader In this school in October of last year. She hated it! I get that some children may dislike school but my Daughters hatred for this school was unmatched. It was so bad to the point she would literally cry every time she had to go on this site. After I finally checked out the site for myself I now understand why she hates this program, first the videos are outdated! Which is not cool since math has changed over time. Second you hardly get any help from the teacher except from those little help videos and some of the live sessions but even then, they hardly ever do much. And the live classes are the worst! It seems like every time you ask a question they get annoyed! which really makes me angry, because children NEED help! and getting annoyed when a child asked for help is really unprofessional.

Easy to understand and most importantly it is work at your own pace. My 9th and 7th grader are enjoying it and actually retaining the knowledge. They are not being forced to move along and if they get a low grade, they can go back and retake the lessons and exams. We are also doing homeschool lessons outside of the program so the children can do more of the subjects they enjoy and go deeper into what interests them.
It seems impossible to fail with Acellus Academy, since you are in charge of everything. We love the freedom and many educational options that Acellus gives us. If a class is too easy or too hard you can change it.
(Unlike the children's previous online school. They were forced to be on timed schedules and had to do live zoom videos and be on screen or you would be reported for truancy. If you got a bad grade you were stuck with it and forced along. Failing the whole year & missing knowledge.)

I have my 8th and 6th graders in this school and they hate it. The videos are from 2003-2014, My 8th grader is stuck on 7th-grade math and can't figure it out, we've been to the live classes we've looked on youtube we've even looked on google, and yet nothing can help her with this math nor can my 6th grade get through with her math. We've been doing this for almost a year but this is still ridiculous when this semester is over I'm taking them out if you put your kids into this school you must have no brain cells left I admit I was stupid to put them in this school, Acellus is horrible.

I liked the academics but the support is terrible!

The graduation process is frustrating! Transfer credits are imported and accepted by the academy but some of those classes are still showing as my son needs to take. I addressed this issue made the name changes to the classes on his transcript as they told me and still the classes are showing up that he needs to take them. Support is poor while taking the classes and trying to get through the graduation process.

So far we are impressed with this home school program. Our kid is already learning way more than in her public school. While no school is perfect this one is perfect for our needs, and that's what it's all about finding what works for you and not expecting everything to be on a silver platter. You have to be dedicated and disciplined and into it with your child it's just like anything you do what you put into it is what you get out of it.

DO NOT TRY THIS SCHOOL. The curriculum is from 2011 and 2013 for most classes. It is not up to date in the slightest bit and will not properly prepare your child to take state testing. My child was only in the program for two days before we withdrew her. Don't waste your money because you won't get that $150 back.

The classes themselves are just short, boring videos that look like they were filmed on a camera from the 1900's followed by seven question about the video.

I mean what a joke. If you love your kids and have more than 2 brain cells, go with a different program. My step son is in this program for high school because his mother is too lazy to properly investigate good schools, and his siblings that are 3 years younger than him are in middle school. He can't even answer his siblings' homework questions even though they are 3 years younger! He doesn't understand basic middle school math and says he hasn't even gone over these subject at acellus! And he is in HIGH SCHOOL. I'm worried for his future with this program. Total scam.

We absolutely love Acellus Academy, it is an enrichment program that has accelerated our children's learning far ahead of their peers. The content is purely educational, fact based, and unbiased. My children have learned inclusiveness, and respect for different cultures and religions. They are learning to be self motivated, and learning time management skills. The teachers are specially selected for their engaging teaching approaches, and are very knowledgeable and competent in their fields. I couldn't be more happy with the program!

We started using acellus during covid for my then 2nd and 4th grade sons. We still use it today. I agree that the program needs a little more in the writing and comprehension sections and we supplement that with worksheets. My kids do the acellus program, do some form of physical exercise for 30 minutes a day, do 2-3 worksheets, and then read for 20 minutes. School takes about 4 to 5 hours a day. For us, this has been a game changer.

SCAM! The curriculum is okay at best. My son didn't enjoy it or engage with it at all. He didn't learn much from the super repetitive classes that only bored him. We decided to cancel the subscription and have been fighting to get rid of it for two or three months now. AVOID!

We have used this program for two years and we love it! I have never had any issues getting a hold of someone when I needed help. We never had any issues getting on. My 6 year old loves the videos and teachers email back. It's a great program. Mynson has autism and other schools he did okay, but with acellus he did better. I highly recommend them

This program is unacceptable I am a high school student in acellus and the costumer service is abysmal to nonexistent they can't tell me anything about the program when you message the teachers they don't respond because the help section and emails are run by robots so the only option is watching YouTube videos for hours until you u understand because the pre recorded outdated videos are garbage wouldnt tell my worst enemy to use this program

So far so good with this program. I’ve been trying to squeeze this in between the cracks of my other projects and part-time job, and have been able to make good progress on my classes. I love the new feature where I can speed up videos, and am looking forward to move on to some of the CTE courses they offer.
